Rego's Sporting Goods was founded in 1992 by the late Regis Perry Sr. Prior to fulfilling his dreams of being a business owner, Regis worked for the Teledyne Monarch Rubber Company. Regis saw a need for a sporting goods store in the Canton/Massillon area. With only a Heat press and 500 sq ft the Rego’s Sporting Goods brand started at 4953 West Tuscarawas in Perry Township. Regis relied on other local small businesses to do all of the embroidery and silk screening for him to start off, but, he quickly learned the trade and was in need of more space and equipment.

Five years later he moved to a larger location and began learning the trade of embroidery when he purchased two machines for his new location at 4400 Lincolnway East in Perry Twp. After 7 years of hard work Regis found the need for another move, which was to the current location at 4536 Lincolnway East in Perry Twp.

Today Rego’s has 10 embroidery machines and a 6 head silk screener and 3,000 sq ft of work and retail space. Throughout Regis’s life he was a very active member in the Perry community with Perry Heights Baseball and Softball, or being an active supporter of various schools athletic programs, and donating to various charities.

Regis lost his battle to cancer June 4, 2013 but his values are carried on by owner and wife Patti Perry and son Jason Perry who currently runs daily operations.
